ARTS COUNCIL OF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY
AWARDS INDIVIDUAL ARTIST GRANTS

The Arts Council of Hillsborough County has awarded $20,006 to eleven Hillsborough County talented artists through the Individual Artist Grant program. The grants are designed to support projects that will further an artists professional development. Depending on the requested amount, each individual artist was awarded up to $1820.

Recipients for 2009: Beth Waligorski, James Lennon, Michael Norton, Rebecca Sexton Larson, Maureen Patrick, Taylor Ikin, Laszlo Horvath, Guillermo Portieles, Myron Jackson, Carol Cleere and Lynn Manos. Their disciplines include music, visual arts, theatre and literature.

The eleven artists were selected from twenty-one applications, reviewed by a panel of Arts Community Professionals and Arts Council Board members. The applications were judged on professional resume and training, completeness and clarity of the application, the impact of the proposed project on the artist and the community and artistic excellence.

The Arts Council is pleased to recognize and support these artists. Funding for this program is made possible from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. Please click on the artists' name to see their work.
