Since 1967, the Arts Council of Hillsborough County has been a champion
and
advocate for local artists and arts organizations. We provide grants to cultural
groups, technical assistance, arts in education, and other services to the community.
Although most of our revenue is from government sources, the economy has left
us with reduced income for the past several years. In order to continue to
maintain our programs to meet the needs of artists and arts organizations, we
are asking you to help.
Specifically, your contributions help us:
- Continue marketing the Hillsborough cultural industry through calendars,
expanded web sites and other initiatives which provide information about
hundreds of arts and cultural organizations and events.
- Expand marketing and services to individual artist through workshops,
e-mail newsletters, and one-on-one consultations.
- Maintain arts research and information projects, such as the economic
impact study.
- Continue the arts in education programs, which reach into every school in
Hillsborough County as well as into community and senior centers.
- Continue and expand community programs, such as Community Stepping
Stones in Sulphur Springs, The Big Draw in Ruskin, the Arts in Prison
program at the Hillsborough Correctional Institution, the Forever Moving
Dance Company (seniors) at the Life Enrichment Center, and many more.
These and other initiatives require funding. We offer programs and services to
arts organizations, artists, arts audiences and the entire community at no charge.
