Artist Marketing Workshop

Bruce Baker will conduct a workshop entitled "A Marketing Primer for the Arts Studio Professional" which is a day-long marketing workshop designed for visual artists on Saturday, April 25th. The workshop, sponsored by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the Dali Museum, and Pinellas County Cultural Affairs, will take place at the Dali Museum in downtown St. Petersburg from 9:30am until 4:30pm.

The workshop fee for the day is $25 per person, and will include all handout materials. As a special treat, the workshop will also include free admission to the Dali Museum and a 20-minute docent tour, placing emphasis on the genius behind Dali's personal marketing success. Bruce will also have CD's available for sale which include the workshop topics as well as other business topics for artists, culled from more than 500 workshops he has conducted across the US and Canada. Although the workshop registration fee must be paid in advance, participants wishing to purchase any CD's may do so the day of the workshop via cash or check.

Seating for the workshop is limited, so register early!

The deadline to return the registration form with payment is Tuesday, April 21st.

COMMUNITY TOWN MEETING ON THE ARTS

The public is invited to a Community Town Meeting on the Arts hosted by the Arts Council of Hillsborough Country Artist Advisory Committee Monday, May 4, 2009, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.

The Artist Advisory Committee serves as an information gathering and sharing arm of the Arts Council and has been a support system and voice for artists in the Hillsborough County community.

Discussion at the meeting will focus on the cultural needs and concerns of the area, gathered from questionnaires available at the meeting and audience input. Anyone interested in developing or learning more about local artist groups in the Carrollwood, Westchase and North Tampa communities can receive information and meet current members at the town meeting. Small sessions tailored to individual disciplines can also be hosted that evening depending on the demands of the audience.

Arts Council staff will share information about Arts Council programs and grants, and respond to general questions.

Interested artists, citizens and art supporters living in the Carrollwood, Westchase and North Tampa communities and surrounding area, as well as the general public, are invited and encouraged to attend.
