Cultural Groups: The 2008 -09 Cultural Development Grants and Guidelines have been posted. Contracts will be written for one year. The deadine is August 8, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. The Checklist for Assessing Accessibility must be included with your application. Cultural Development Grants are awarded on a competitive basis to not-for-profit, tax exempt organizations that provide cultural programming in Hillsborough County. The grants encourage the professional development of both cultural and administrative operations of local organizations. Funding is awarded based on merit in four areas:
          • Overall quality,
          • Cultural excellence,
          • Public impact and outreach
          • Financial/administrative.
A grants review panel, comprised of experts in various artistic disciplines and arts administration expertise convenes to determine which organizations qualify for funding. Cultural organizations, which meet the guidelines, are required to complete an application form and submit work samples.

For Individual Artists:
The 2008 Individual Artist Grants have been awarded. The projected deadline for the 2009 application is December of '08 or January of '09.
The Individual Artist Grants are awarded to artists in the visual, literary, dance, theatre, and music disciplines who have demonstrated a level of expertise in their chosen field. The maximum award is $2,000 for a project that will further the artist’s professional development. Applicants are required to complete an application form and submit work samples.

For Arts Teachers: Deadlines are postponed until further notice.

The Arts Teacher Incentive Grants are for full-time K - 12 art teachers in Hillsborough County public schools. The funds may be used for class-room projects, in-school projects, or the professional development of the art teacher (workshops, classes, conference, etc). Teachers of visual arts, music, theatre and dance are eligible.
Grants of up to $500 may be awarded for worthy projects. There is no specific deadline during the school year for applications, but no applications will be accepted after May 12 and all projects must be completed by September 15.
